Meeting Minutes of September 2017

ATTENDEES: Present were Lou Brackett, Dale Yeckley, KJ Kline, Tommie Derryberry, Harold Pierce.

 

EXCUSED; Josh Hogstad, Jay Hoefling, James Solace.

GUESTS: Nancy Yeckley, Lucas Turner, Dennis and Melisse Turner, Bill and Carolynn Averett, Lucas'

Aunt from Texas.

 

Post Commander KJ Kline called the brief meeting to order at 6:00pm at Fruita Reed Parck, Fruita, CO. The colors were in position and the Cmdr. asked those present to render an appropriate hand salute. All Legionnaires were asked to uncover, then the opening prayer was offered by the Post Chaplain.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was presented by Dale Yeckley. The Preamble was read by the Post Service

Officer and Past Post Commander. Commander declared The American Legion Post 2006, Department of Colorado convened.

 

The Committee reports of membership; finance; Service Officer; Chaplains report were not give and

preparations were be made for the Bar-B-Que.

 

OLD BUSINESS: Not presented

 

NEW BUSINESS: Included: 1) Because of the advirse weather with rain and wind, the Bar-B-Que was relocated to the Past Commander's home where the tables and food were set up to be served.  Food was served and shortly after everyone eating, the Boys State Representative Lucas Turner begain his report to all family and Legionnaires present.

 

No other business being brought before the members present, the Post Comdr. closed the evening event even though several remained to visit and socialize.

 

Meeting and Bar-B-Que event was adjourned at 9:30 pm.

 

The next Fruita Post 2006 meeting will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 9:00am in the Fruita Civic Center in  Fruita, CO.  Light refreshments were served.
